The moon was high and full in the night sky, silver strands of it caressed the windows and slipped into the bedrooms of Hogwarts castle. One of the only places it couldn't touch was the dark, windowless lair Remus was headed for.
He would be there, potion in hand.
He would be there, standing, waiting, expecting.
He would be there with that cold expression and hurtful smirk, screaming at him without words that he was filthy, tainted, a monster.
Remus supposed the passive aggressive guilt was Snape's own way of paying him back for all those years of teasing and pranks. To think, after all these years, it came down to this.
Remus stumbled into the dark room without knocking, hands trembling; he could feel the wolf inside him already. Almost in tears, he snatched the vial from Snape's hands and gulped it down.
With the same cold smirk, the potions master opened his arms.
Remus didn't want to need it so badly, the potion, the warmth, the touch. He didn't want to see Severus's face anymore, the triumph and glee in Severus's eyes.
But the long, gentle fingers moved soothingly through his hair and over his back, and he felt himself melt yet again.
Every month Remus would come, and every time he would be there.
This was born while I was at my friend Katie's house, brainstorming for a completely different fandom. (The Newsies!)
I was thinking of coming up with a companion piece to this from Snape's point of view, but I don't know... Maybe this is best left alone.

Why didn't I post this on fanfiction.net? Well I've sort of ruined my reputation there by severely abusing each character I write about with as many grammatical and spelling errors as possible. ^_^
No, I keed, I keed!

Comments on this would be wonderful, I'm actually quite proud of this!
